The Ford Falcon XC Cobra of Allan Moffat / Jacky Ickx leads the eventual winners Peter Brock / Jim Richards and Bob Morris / John Fitzpatrick in Holden Torana's during the early laps of the 1978 Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama. After the Holden's were trounced the year earlier, with the Moffat Falcon's rubbing salt in the wound by formation finishing slowly 1 - 2 over the line, they were hungry to win. Peter 'Perfect' Brock, and Richards winning the day for Holden, as the main threat of Falcon's fell by the wayside.
